If you follow me a little bit here you will see that I change everything very often is home. But if you pay close attention, you see that certain elements always remain the same; "My interior base". De vloer, white walls, the couch, and a black armchair.

If you choose a certain interior base, you can go in all directions with interior styling!

Bank

Especially with a bank such as this "off white" montel bank from residential boulevard Poortvliet, it is smart to choose the color as basic as possible.
Offwhite, wit, zwart, or light gray is a good choice when choosing a basic color sofa.

Wooden floors

Dark wooden floors often have a rural look. For example, you cannot easily combine a modern or a Scandinavian interior with that.

If you are very stylish this is of course no problem, but if you like to keep up with the trends, or you are very capricious and not so stylish, you better not opt for such a rural floor.

In addition, combining wood on wood is always a thing. Two different types of wood that are not quite alike soon seem busy. When you have a white floor, or light gray (for example consider a cast floor) you can easily combine all types of wood with it. It even makes wood look better, due to the color contrast.

Like this one coffee table around in the picture below

These light wooden tables ( residential boulevart Poortvliet) come out much calmer on a basic floor that has no wood grain.

TIP: do you have a wooden floor, and would you also like wooden tables, you can also use a rug to break up the contrast a bit. In this way, the wood does not stand directly on wood, and you do not create a restless image with this.

Bad buy

I myself once had a light pink sofa. This was fun for half a year, but after that i noticed the limitation that gave when combining the rest. The fun was gone quickly!

Fortunately, they were removable covers, and I could exchange them for white covers. A white sofa, the best choice in years!

interior base

The wall could turn nice and yellow, (ocher gold flexa) and I could safely combine a leather hocker with it. Everything fits! No more color restrictions.

Perhaps that is the secret of my interior style. When you have a neutral base, you can work with different styling themes very easily, and often make changes to it.
You apply the colors in the accessories, or on an accent wall (like the yellow wall with me) and the rest remains the same.

See my living room below in the photo. The walls are mostly white, the floor light blue / gray, and the sofa is also white.
Here the color is mainly added by the accessories.

interior base

The funny thing is that you can actually give a different look to your interior very quickly, without putting too much work into it.

The floor is basic light gray so this is always good. And of the white walls remain white.
You have at most 1 wall that you can paint every now and then, or a wallpaper. And for the rest you play with pillows, wall hangings, carpets and other accessories. This also limits the financial investment.

TIP: Large fabric wall hangings immediately give a great effect on a neutral wall! And a rug can also contain a lot of color in a basic interior, like my floral rug here in the photo.

It is important that you take the correct basis into account. The easiest thing to have as an interior canvas is a lot of white, gray and black. This also applies to the floor. For example, a light floor is perfect for making everything stand out beautifully.
But you can also opt for light wood, grijs, or even black! With a dark wood color it becomes a lot more difficult. You immediately set a clear style with that.

Conclussie

Do you like interior styling?? and you like to change your interior style?then it is smart to choose a light base with special attention to the three basic components:

1. The couch, 2. De vloer, en 3 , de muren.

If this base is neutral, you can combine endlessly with styles!

Have fun styling!
