This is how you prepare your garden furniture for summer
Now that summer is approaching and we see the sun more often, you want to be able to enjoy this in the garden or on your balcony. But when your garden furniture has been left unprotected all winter, need a good maintenance first. Therefore, a number of tips to get your garden furniture ready for summer again!
Wooden garden furniture
Wood has a natural look, which is why many people opt for wooden garden furniture. Do you have wooden tuinstoelen, -banken, or tables? Then you are lucky, because this furniture does not require much maintenance. It is best to gray garden furniture made of wood, because that way they keep their natural look.
However, you can do the furniture like that 1 tot 2 clean once a year with a special wood cleaner and then protect with a special wood protector, so that the wooden furniture does not absorb dirt. If you would like to keep the original color of the wood, then you will have to oil it regularly. That is a bit more work and the aging process is only delayed.
This is our garden set. We also have wooden furniture so nice and easy! In the beginning I wanted to combat aging by constantly shielding everything with every rain shower. But in the end you cannot escape it, so let it go! I do put a tarp around it in the winter.
Wicker garden furniture
Wicker garden furniture does not require much maintenance either. Make them 1 tot 2 once a year with a mild soap solution. You can use a special cleaner to give the furniture an extra nano-active layer. In this way, the furniture no longer absorbs dirt. Never use a high-pressure cleaner to clean the furniture, because you can damage the furniture with it.
Aluminum and granite garden furniture
Maintaining aluminum and granite garden furniture is quite simple. Before use, just clean them with some green soap and you're done!
Garden cushions
Chances are that you also have garden cushions with your garden furniture. You have these in two types: for all weather and dirt- and water resistant.
Especially the dirt and water-repellent cushions you see more and more often! I have them myself, and find it ideal. When I buy pillows now, I always check whether they are repellent. I sometimes forget to put them inside at night!
In principle, you can leave the garden cushions outside for all weather conditions, but to keep them beautiful, it is also best to store these when you are not using them. That way you keep that protective layer longer.
