Did you know that a wooden floor is a collection source for dust and sand? A floor that is not completely sealed traps a lot of dust particles that you cannot easily vacuum up.
If your child has a dust mite allergy, this is very inconvenient. Having a chronic cold is anything but pleasant for a child.
Vacuuming often and keeping things clean is very important to limit complaints as much as possible.
But I noticed that this was often difficult when vacuuming. The old floor had many holes and cracks, and the dust particles contained therein. The vacuum cleaner could not remove this. And then I haven't even mentioned the fabric under the shelves that you can never reach at all.
The only solution was to lay a new crack-free laminate floor over it.

That is why we replaced Roos' bedroom floor with a high-quality water-repellent one (so it can withstand frequent mopping very well) laminate flooring Carpetright.
The laminate is from the brand: Finfloor supreme. Color,,nl,shelving,,nl: Santorini Tango. This fresh whitewash has a slightly cool undertone.
This makes it look fresh and cool and contrasts nicely with the pink walls. The floor is extremely strong and of high quality. Not comparable to cheap hardware store laminate.
The result is a wonderfully fresh room.
This floor is also very suitable for the living room. The floor was laid super tight by an expert from Carpetright. With this step we have been able to tackle a large part of creating a dust mite-free room!
The planks have relief and therefore appear a bit natural. No laminate feel at all.
Advantages of a white floor
An advantage of a white floor is that you can see dust very clearly. Maybe there are people who would rather not see this, but I would really like to see this!
This allows me to ensure that the floor remains clean. We have now 10 years of white laminate in other rooms in the house and I think this is ideal! Small stick vacuum cleaner at hand, and you keep everything neatly fresh.
