Thursday 11 August, the time had come. The IKEA catalog 2016-2017 launch for the press. As a true fan IKEA I was only too happy the invitation to be able to be present.
Ik heb zelf 6 year long worked at IKEA, and know that presentations, and festivals are always organized to perfection. So a disappointment just could not be.
Nieuwveen
The launch took place in Nieuwveen. Exactly where and how long was held in the middle, totdat ik een paar dagen van te voren een mailtje kreeg dat de weersvoorspellingen een beetje invloed konden hebben op de locatie. En de dames beter geen naaldhakken konden gaan dragen, en dat je warme kleding moest aantrekken.
Maisveld
De navigatie leidde ons door het groene hart van de randstad. We kwamen uiteindelijk aan bij een groot maisveld. Gelukkig waren er grote tenten aanwezig, want het regende namelijk enorm. Het maisveld was voorzien van paden en elk pad had een hoek dat helemaal was ingericht met de nieuwe IKEA items. Er was zelfs een complete keuken opgebouwd.
After a speech by the Director of the Netherlands and a very witty sober speech by guest designer Piet Hein Eek , was er een heerlijke lunch . Daarna mocht je vrij het maisveld in om alles rustig te bekijken.
IKEA PS
Ik sloeg meteen het IKEA PS pad in, because it has long been my favorite IKEA series. IKEA PS is a series that often bold in collaboration -with- Designing designers from home and abroad. The nice thing about the series is that the items often go from the collection soon, so you really have something unique in house. IKEA PS Some items are even on the expensive collector's items.
