If you can make me happy with something, then it is with a visit to the thrift store. And so I do… almost every day! In my city Groningen it is bursting with nice thrift stores, and I continue to be amazed at what you can find there. No standard home accessories, but unique pieces with character, stories and a nice price tag.

In this blog I share three of my favorite finds from the past few months. Maybe it will also inspire you to visit a thrift store more often!

A play corner full of vintage charm

For my son Moss (ja, that of the gosling room ????) I wanted to create a cozy play corner. And how nice is it to use thrift store finds for that! I found a cute one vintage rattan doll pram and a small one vintage valve bench both with so much character. I also secretly use the bench as a storage space for toys. Moss has all his cars in it!

Functional and attractive!

Rattan rocking chair + raven

Rattan is still completely hot in interior design, and at the thrift store it is sometimes literally there for the taking. I scored a beautiful one rattan rocking chair and a matching one raven – both in perfect condition. They are now cozy in a corner of the living room. Extra nice with a sheepskin on it!

Large kitsch Chinese vase with artificial flowers

Perhaps my most striking find: a large Chinese vase full of kitsch vibes. He is really over the top, and that's exactly why I think it's so fantastic. I filled it with colorful ones artificial flowers from Wibra (tip!) and now it is a real eye-catcher on my table.

Kortom: with a little detective work (and patience) you can score the most original interior items at the thrift store. And that makes a house truly personal. Dus, on to the cycle! Who knows what gem is waiting for you there.
